Food Safety and Handling Policy
We are committed to preparing your food safely and in compliance with all local health regulations for home-based kitchens.
I. Temperature Control for Pick-Up and Delivery
To ensure your meal is safe and delicious, we maintain strict temperature control during preparation and packaging. However, this safety control is limited by time and the conditions of transport once the food leaves our possession.
- Hot Food: All food designated to be served hot is cooked and packaged to maintain a temperature of 135∘F (57∘C) or above at the time it is sealed.
- Cold Food: All food designated to be served cold is refrigerated and packaged to maintain a temperature of 40∘F (4∘C) or below at the time it is sealed.
- Customer Responsibility: You must collect your order promptly at the agreed-upon time. Upon receiving your order, the responsibility for maintaining safe food temperatures is immediately transferred to you, the customer. We strongly recommend consuming the food within two hours of pick-up/delivery or immediately refrigerating/reheating it to appropriate temperatures.
II. Allergy & Cross-Contact Policy
Please read this section carefully if you have a food allergy.
Our products are prepared in a private home kitchen that processes common food allergens, including, but not limited to, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, and shellfish.
- Consultation is Required: If you or anyone eating your order has a specific food allergy, you must notify us at the time of placing your order. Do not assume a dish is safe. Please check with the cook (us) for specific details on ingredients and preparation.
- No Guarantee: While we take precautions to prevent cross-contact (such as cleaning and sanitizing equipment and surfaces), we cannot guarantee that any item will be free of trace amounts of allergens.
- Severity of Allergies: If you have a severe, life-threatening food allergy, we advise you to exercise extreme caution and assume a risk of cross-contact exists, as our kitchen is not certified allergen-free.
III. Transfer of Responsibility
When the food order is physically transferred to you (the customer) our responsibility for the food’s safety immediately ends.
This transfer of responsibility includes:
- Temperature Maintenance: As noted above, maintaining safe holding temperatures after transfer is your responsibility.
- Product Integrity: We are not responsible for damage, spills, or tampering that occurs during transit or after the point of pick-up.
- Consumption Window: We are not liable for any illness resulting from food that is not properly handled, refrigerated, or reheated after the transfer of custody.
